Ubiquiti NanoStation M5 AirMax Wireless PTP Kit - Review
"We trialled these at a site with 3 buildings in a triangle, each approximately 1.5km apart.

With near line of sight, only 1 tree in partial view, but one Nanostation pointing 45' out of alignment, we still achieved 100mbps connectivity.

With a row of dense trees, approximately 5 trees deep, we found that the Nanostation detected the range as 3km (based on auto Ack settings) as opposed to 1.5km true distance, but still managed 30mbps through the trees, from a tripod at ground level. In producton, this would be fitted to a pole 20 feet above ground.

Based on our test results, we will be purchasing more hardware and installing these solutions for more accurate testing and production use.

The software was easy to configure, took minutes. The hardware performed as expected and seemed to provide a very wide signal angle. The Ubiquiti management software for large scale installations seemed adequate and will meet our needs.

We are happy with all tests so far and at these costs, we will achieve huge performance benefits and major savings over multiple adsl installatons.
